Our Beginnings
A&J Energy Consultants (AJEC) was founded in 2009 by Al Schmidt and Jack Zhou, combining Al’s deep expertise in building consultation with Jack’s knowledge of building science and energy simulations. From the start, we’ve been committed to advancing energy-efficient building practices and certifications.
Our journey began with a landmark project at Stonecroft Communities in New Hamburg, where we conducted energy evaluations and labelling for 34 homes. This success set the stage for what was to come. Since then, we’ve assessed over 10,000 homes across Southern Ontario, working with clients from Windsor to Belleville and Muskoka. Our dedication to quality service has made us the trusted energy consultants for homeowners, builders, and developers throughout the region.
